Her true name is Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, but she was called Mother Teresa of Calcutta. She was born in Skopje, Ottoman Empire on August 26th, 1910. Her parents were Albanian descent and they were a Catholic family. When Mother Teresa was eight years old her father was sick and died in 1919.

When she was young, she taught geography and history for children. She arrived in India in 1929 to fulfill her dream to caring for the sick and poor people. In India, Mother Teresa started to help people out such as abandoned children, sick people, lepers and others like this.

In 1950's and 1960's she established a leper colony, an orphanage, a nursing home, a family clinic and mobile health clinics.

After decades, people realized Mother Teresa was working hard to help needly people. Because of it, she was rewarded and got Nobel Peace Prize (Nobel Laureate) in October 17th, 1979 for her humanitarian work. In her speeach, she said "We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop".

She died on September 5th, 1997 in Calcutta, India at the age of 87. She had a heart attack when she was serving a religious cerimony in Princess Diana memory. The Princess was her close friend and unfortunately she died in a car accident on August 31st, 1997.

Mother Teresa was buried in Calcultta, India. And she left a legacy that continues through Nirmala Sister. Teresa claimed mensages of peace, love and life lessons. And the most important thing that Mother Teresa left to us was the example of how human being should be and everyone can contribute to do something good for the world. Her life story inspires and encorages people to do the same.
